Siting of LMA (Acoustics and Mechanics Laboratory)
The Acoustics and Mechanics Laboratory, currently located in the CNRS site rue Joseph Aiguier, will shortly move to Marseille Provence Technology Park in Château-Gombert by 2014. This operation, under CNRS' project management, deals with around 8,000 sqm net surface. The 120 permanent staff will therefore strengthen the mechanics-energetics cluster, which already regroups IRPHE (Non Equilibrium Phenomena Research Institute) and IUSTI (University Institute for Industrial Thermal Systems).
Polytech Extension
The extension works of Polytech'Marseille in the Château Gombert site will commence by early 2012 and will last 18 months. This new building – designed to host the Microelectronics and Communication department (MT), the IM2MP laboratory and the National Microelectronics Training Centre, will be built on a 4,200-sqm land next to the current UNIMECA and IUSTI buildings, which already regroup the Mechanics and Energetics, and Civil Engineering departments.
Optopolis
Backed by the OPTITEC competitive cluster, the ambition of the OPTOPOLIS project is to be viewed as an acknowledged dedicated venue for French photonics at an international level, as well as to speed up its economic development on fast-growing markets.

Place Haute
The development of Place Haute will commence by the end of 2011. Located at the heart of the technology park and at the foot of the students' lodgings, this square will be the future stopover of the high-level bus service. This new urban facility that will favour exchanges was designed as a place of living and exchange between the various actors in the technology park.
