Marseille Provence Technology Park in Château-Gombert is an operation monitored by Marseille Provence Métropole urban Community in partnership with the City of Marseille, and the support of both the Bouches-du-Rhône Department Council and the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region.

Presentation Technopole Chateau GombertTogether with Marseille Luminy Technology Park and the Florides activity park in Marignane, Marseille Provence Technology Park is one of the privileged areas for economic development in Marseille’s metropolitan area. It lies at the crossroads of the economic world and the university resources in the Etoile cluster, which includes Saint-Jérôme and Château-Gombert campuses.

Within the scope of the Aix-Marseille University Campus scheme, a 720-million euro investment will support the birth of the largest university in France by 1st January 2012. 

Amongst others, Marseille Provence Métropole will finance a High-Level Bus Service (BHNS) between Marseille Provence Technology Park and Saint-Jérôme Campus.

INNOVATION at the heart of MPM’S DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY

 

Marseille Provence Métropole urban community has made its support to scientific and technological innovation a priority in its economic development strategy, which is focusing on knowledge economics.

Amongst others, this results in:

  • Supporting creation and assistance to innovative companies through the Impulse incubator (www.incubateur-impulse.com) and the Marseille Innovation (www.marseille-innov.org) and Grand Luminy Association (www.grandluminy.com) business centres.
  • Developing such privileged venues as Marseille Provence Technology Park in Château-Gombert (optics/engineering sciences), Luminy Technology Park (biotech/health), Florides Activity Park in Marignane (aeronautics) and the Media Centre in La Belle de Mai (multimedia)
  • Supporting the organisation and coordination of the competitive clusters, and financing R&D projects that originate from the clusters
  • Supporting event organisation
