Polytech RESEARCH LABORATORY (formerly IUSTI)

UMR CNRS 6595 (IUSTI) is the research laboratory integrated in Polytech' Marseille’s Energetics Mechanics department. This major research unit, which is fully hosted in the premises of the Energetic Mechanics department, takes a very active part in research development as well as in the training of engineers.

It brings together a staff of 112 including 53 CNRS teaching researchers and researchers, 24 engineers, technicians, service workers and administrative employees, and 30 doctoral candidates.

Research focuses on three essential fields:

  • Granular media in their dry, diluted, dense or reactive aspects,
  • Complex, hypersonic, reactive, diphasic flows,
  • Physics of transfers with infrared radiation, instabilities, interface phenomena and molten baths.

LSIS

Information Sciences and Systems Laboratory

UMR 6168 - CNRS - Polytech - U1 - U2 - U3 - ENSAM

laboratoire LSIS

LSIS was created in 2002 via the regrouping of research teams originating from LIM (FRE N°2246), ENSAM Aix-en-Provence and DIAM-IUSPIM (UPRES-EA N°2110). The latter structure has been fully sited in the premises of the Industrial and Computer Engineering Department.

The laboratory currently federates some 200 researchers, teaching researchers and doctoral candidates whose research works in the laboratory cover several fields in Computer Science, Automatic Control and Imaging. These recent years, the research works carried out at LSIS were rewarded by a sharp increase in its industrial contracts, by its involvement in several competitive clusters (Sea, SCS i.e. Secured Communication Solutions, Risks, Eurobiomed and OPTITEC clusters) and by its incorporation into two Carnot Institutes.
