SCHOOLS

Marseille Ecole Centrale

Situated in the heart of the Château-Gombert technology park, Centrale Marseille’s objective is to train general engineers with sound scientific and technical backgrounds, wide open-mindedness to the world and skills in entrepreneurship and innovation.

The engineers who are trained by the school are hired both in France and abroad. The school aims to favour the emergence of talented persons and to create values in fields as diverse as research, expertise and management.
It also strives to develop their sense of responsibility and respect both in terms of personal and community values. It is scheduled to train some 350 students per year by 2015.

The school gets support from the Ecoles Centrales group into which it is wholly integrated, develops its research activities in concert with the Aix-Marseille universities and the region’s higher educational establishments, while entering into partnership with the companies and institutions both at regional and national levels.

It employs over 200 outside contributors, many of whom are from the business world, and 120 full-time teaching researchers, who carry out their research works in the school’s partner laboratories - associations have been put into place with five of them: Fresnel Institute, Institute for Research of Non Equilibrium Phenomena (IRPHE), Mechanics and Acoustics Laboratory (LMA), Marseille Institute for Molecular Science (ISM2), and Mechanics Modelling and Green Processes (M2P2). This interweaving has created genuine synergy between teaching, research and companies.
